Dhanush for Velai Illa Pattadhaari
Directed by Velraj, Velai Illa Pattadhaari star, Dhanush has been receiving rave reviews for his performance in the film.Velai Illa Pattadhaari aka VIP, was one of the biggest hits of Kollywood in 2014. Dhanush’s character was that of a civil engineering graduate who couldn’t find a job since four years. However, when he finally lands a job, there are a lot of complications. One of the most famous scenes of the movie is that of Dhanush’s two-minute monologue that leaves the audience awestruck.

Illayathalapathy Vijay for Kaththi
Kathiresan aka Vijay’s action-packed performance in Kaththi is applause-worthy! Vijay, who has a huge fan following didn’t disappoint with his role. Kaththi’s gross profit was the talk-of-the-town in 2014. AR Murugadoss’ direction has always been a notch above the rest and when he directs a powerhouse actor like Vijay, the film is bound to be a winner. Kaththi was one of the best films to have hit screens in 2014. The movie is a narration of the plight of farmers in Tamil Nadu. It tells the heart-wrenching tale of farmers who are being ripped of their land by multi-national companies. We see Vijay playing the roles of Kathiresan and Jeevanantham, who are lookalikes.

Karthi for Madras
Karthi’s spectacular performance as Kaleeswaran in Madras garnered him much critical acclaim. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the movie sheds light on a political clash and the resulting bloodshed that is caused due to a mere wall. The movie was praised by several celebrities including superstar Rajinikanth. Karthi, who has always stunned with his splendid performances, seems to have nailed it with Madras. The film also delves into friendship, love and the changing dynamics of relationships in accordance to the political scenario.

Siddharth for Jigarthanda
Siddharth’s hit film, Jigarthanda, was his third successful film in the year 2014. Jigarthanda has been appreciated by the critics for its script, performances, cinematography and music. In fact, the movie has also won two National Awards. Siddharth’s flawless performance as an aspiring director makes for a fun watch. The movie was so successful that the makers dubbed the film in Telugu, making it Siddharth’s first film in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation.

The film, Pannayarum Padminiyum is a heart-warming comedy-drama revolving around a landlord and his love for a vintage car. Vijay Sethupathi, who acted as the driver of the car, tickled the audience silly with his on-screen antics. The driver is very close to the landlord and enjoys riding in the vintage car with him. However, the landlord’s family and the driver face a lot of perils due to the car.
