Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’: Things to look forward to from the film

While Superstar Rajinikanth’s 159th movie has been in news for quite some time, director Pa Ranjith has finally announced the name of the film on the micro blogging site, Twitter. The director tweeted with excitement, “கபாலி"( K A B A L I ).....magizhchi!!!!" [sic.]. Rajinikanth’s movies have always created a big frenzy in South India and though his last venture, Lingaa, was not such a huge success, Ranjith’s excitement sure spreads like a wildfire as the whole anxiety of watching Thalaivar on screen again is starting to brew. We have compiled reasons why the anticipation to watch the film is worth the attention…

Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’: Things to look forward to from the film

Rajinikanth in full form
We saw Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan in the role of Suyambalingam in Papanasam which was well received by the audience. It is now time to see Thalaivar work his magic. While Rajinikanth’s recent two ventures, Lingaa and Kochadaiyaan didn’t fare as well as is expected from his films, a report on Hindustantimes.com stated Pa Ranjith saying that his film Kabali would bring back Rajinikanth the actor. Wow, that itself gives us a reason to watch the film. Looks like Kabali is on its way to become one of the most anticipated movies of Kollywood.

Rajinikanth as a don
Remember Baasha? Rajinikanth emerged as a don in the film post the death of his best friend Anwar Baasha (played by Charan Singh). Superstar Rajinikanth floored us with his performance starting as a simple auto rickshaw driver with a power-packed past where he was a don or should we say, Nalla Don. According to reports, Rajinikanth will be portraying the role of a real life don, and yet again, a robinhood don! If Rajinikanth will be portraying the role of a don in Kabali, we can hope for some strong punchlines delivered by the actor and also hold on to our seats as we witness some out of the world action.

Rajinikanth romancing Bollywood actress Radhika Apte
We have seen the Thalaivar romance Bollywood beauties such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone in the recent past. We will now see acclaimed Bollywood actress Radhika Apte pave her way down South as she stars opposite the legend, Rajinikanth. According to reports, Radhika has a strong and meaty character in the film. Radhika has been appreciated in Hindi films like Badlapur, Hunterrr and has now grabbed attention with her recent short film Ahalya, written and directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

Kabali helmed by Pa Rajinth
After directing movies like Attakathi and Madras, Pa Ranjith has proven his mettle as a fab director and won critical acclaim as well. The collaboration of Pa Ranjith and Rajinikanth sure is exciting, especially after learning that the film is about a Don. While the superstar’s recent two films had a rough patch where his fans were also disappointed, Pa Ranjith’s two releases have worked very well with the audience and critics. Knowing Ranjith’s brilliance in donning the director’s hat, we cannot wait to watch Rajini sir to floor us with his persona and performance again.
