Interesting facts about Shriya Pilgaonkar

Shriya Pilgaonkar, daughter of Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar started her career in the industry as a child artist. She has acted in daily soaps and later was a stage performer. She stepped into film industry much later in 2013, other than just being an actor she also has many other feathers in her hat. She has also modeled in advertisements with Shahid Kapoor and Vikrant Massey. Let's have a look on some of her lesser-known facts below.

Shriya's background

Shriya became a professional swimmer when she was a child and had won many medals. She also used to take lessons in Japanese language. She has done Bachelors in Sociology from Saint Xavier's College, Mumbai. She has also learned Kathak and also has an interest in animation. The young actress is a pool of talent.

Shriya's debut

Shriya, when she was five, appeared on TV in the Hindi show 'Tu Tu Main Main'. She has also been a stage artist and done many plays, one of which is Freedom Of Love. She made her debut in the Marathi film industry with her dad's directed 'Kulti Kk'. She was also starred in a role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the film, 'Fan' which was her Bollywood debut.

Director and producer Shriya

Yes, she has directed and produced a few short films and also went to Harvard University for summer school. She has directed 'Painted Signal', 'Panchgavya' and 'Dresswala', which were screened at film festivals. 'Dresswala' was an official selection at the 2012 Mumbai Film Festival.

Her achievements

She has won many of the awards for her work amongst which one was for her debut film. She was awarded the Maharashtra State Government Award for Best Debut Actress at Maharashtra State Film Awards. She has bagged such six awards after her debut in the film. She has also been a part of the French film 'Un plus une' alongside Oscar-winning actor Jean Dujardin.

Her selection for 'Fan'

Shriya got selected for her character Neha in her Bollywood debut film 'Fan', by the director Maneesh Sharma from amongst the 750 auditions of girls held by the director. She played a role alongside the Bollywood's Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. Though a short role, it gained her a lot of fame and was also appreciated by audiences.
