'De Dhakka 2': Here's why you shouldn't miss watching the Mahesh Manjrekar, Shivaji Satam and Makarand Anaspure starrer

Marathi cinema's eminent actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar has greeted us all with the first trailer of his second instalment of the blockbuster film 'De Dhakka'. The film was a big hit, hence De Dhakka 2 is riding on high expectations.

The previously released teaser and posters had caught everyone's attention. The film is slated to hit the screens on August 5, today. Right from its quirky concept to the stupendous performances of the actors, we give you a rundown of reasons why you shouldn’t miss watching the film.

The iconic and successful first film in the franchise De Dhakka (2008) which was released about 14 years ago, was helmed by Atul Kale and Sudesh Manjrekar. It was about a crazy family’s journey in an auto-rickshaw in a village in Maharashtra.

In Mahesh Manjrekar's 'De Dhakka 2', the auto-rickshaw is replaced by an automobile while the film has been shot entirely in London. Going by trailer, the plot revolves around how an Indian businessman Makrand Anaspure takes his family members for a ride in a European city.

Gauri Vaidya who played a key role in 'De Dhakka' has been replaced by Manjrekar's daughter Gauri Ingawale. While speaking about the same, Mahesh Manjrekar revealed Vaidya played a good role in 'De Dhakka'. The filmmaker added that right now she is concentrating on her studies. He went on to say that her look has also changed and it has become difficult to recognize her.

'De Dhakka 2' will see an ensemble star cast including actors like Siddharth Jadhav, Shivaji Satam, Makarand Anaspure, Medha Manjrekar, Gauri Ingawale, Bharti Achrekar, Saksham Kulkarni and Sanjay Khapre in pivotal roles.
