Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar, Nushrratt Bharuccha: Actors replaced in the sequels of these hit films

Nushratt Bharuccha has been replaced by Ananya Panday in 'Dream Girl 2'. Nushrratt recently opened up in a chat with ETimes and said that it's disheartening for her to not be a part of 'Dream Girl 2' because the whole team including actor Ayushmann Khurrana and director Raaj Shaandilyaa are very special to her. But she will be cheering for 'Dream Girl 2' and hopes it brings in huge numbers at the box office.

Akshay Kumar was replaced by Kartik Aaryan in 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'. The sequel managed to do just as well as the first part. Infact, it was one of the biggest hits of 2022. Kartik had said during the release that he doesn't want to be compared to Akshay because he loved him in 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' and has grown up watching the star. Hence, it's better to not compare.

While Kartik replaced Akshay, Tabu was brought in to play Manjulika, which was previously essayed by Vidya. Both the actresses have got immense accolades for their respective roles and people haven't been able to draw comparisons.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif both were replaced in 'Welcome Back'. The sequel starred John Abraham alongside Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar who were retained in their characters. Shruti Haasan was cast opposite John Abraham. It had other new characters included played by Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia.

Saif Ali Khan replaced Abhishek Bachchan and was paired opposite Rani Mukerji in Bunty Aur Babli 2. True fans of the film were disappointed with this, because Abhishek-Rani's chemistry and the essence, charm which AB brought to Bunty were a huge reason why the film was loved. While people still love 'Bunty Aur Babli' and the songs remain iconic over the years, the sequel tanked at the box office.
