Valentine’s Day special: Bengali cinema's power couples giving us major relationship goals

Film industry is a dream destination where ordinary lives often shaped into fairytales. As we all know, the most significant part of a fairytale remains romance. While some of the real-life couples in the industry find it difficult to keep the love going strong, few lovebirds smoothly sail through it. These couples once again prove our belief in love and give us major relationship goals as the most romantic couples of Bengali cinema.

Prosenjit Chatterjee and Arpita Chatterjee

Prosenjit and Arpita are happily married for 14 long years. The most celebrated couple of Bengali cinema is blessed with a son Trisanjit. Even after all these years, you would often hear them praising each other whenever they get a chance. You would be surprised to know that Arpita sometimes calls Prosenjit as Bumbada! It has also become an unsaid rule that Prosenjit’s wife Arpita goes to the airport to receive their son when he is coming home and Prosenjit goes to see him off. Even the popular actor packs his son’s bag for the hostel and being a perfectionist he keeps packing and unpacking the bags all day and night.

Raj Chakraborty and Subhashree Ganguly

Not only Bollywood, even Tollywood had a blast celebrating the summer wedding season last year. No Bengali film industry’s one of the most happeing couples Raj Chakraborty and Subhashree Ganguly tied the knot at a grand ceremony in 2018. Since then the newly-wed couple has ruled the social media uploading adorable pictures. Raj and Subhasree first met on the sets of 2016 film ‘Abhimaan’ and became special friends. The couple stole the limelight on several occasions since then, especially when there were wild rumours involving Raj with another beautiful actress Mimi Chakraborty. Despite all these rumours, last year speculations of Raj and Subhasree’s wedding were also making rounds almost every week.

Jisshu Sengupta and Nilanjana Sengupta

It’s not an exaggeration if you call Jisshu Sengupta and his beloved wife Nilanjana Sengupta one of the cutest couples the Bengali film industry has ever seen. They have always maintained their lovey-dovey image and never tried to hide their affection for each other. For instance, Jisshu and Nilanjana’s recent Twitter conversation will make you say wow! The versatile Bengali actor was busy in shooting for Srijit Mukherjee’s ‘Ek Je Chilo Raja’ and was away from his family on his beloved wife’s birthday. So, he took to the Twitter to wish Nilanjana and his wife’s reply was the most adorable one you would find these days. It once again proved why they are called the most-loved couple of Tollywood.

5/7

Dev Adhikari and Rukmini Maitra

Dev has often been tight-lipped about his personal life, especially his love life. There is a common saying in Tolly para that Dev is quite shy to reveal his lady love. But things have changed these days. It’s no big news that Rukmini Maitra is Dev’s girlfriend. Not just on-screen, the hottest jodi of Tollywood has a sweetly adorable chemistry even off-screen. Everyone in the industry loves to see Dev and Rukmini together and whenever they appear together the lovebirds just rock the floor.

6/7

Ankush Hazra and Oindrila Sen

Ankush, who is right now gearing up for his romantic drama with director Baba Yadav has always been a friendly co-actor. We all know about his relationship with actress Oindrila Sen. The couple is quite vocal on social media about their feelings for each other and they are going strong for each day. However, Ankush and Oindrila might not be your Mills and Boons couple as their idea of romance is a bit different from others.

7/7

Bonny Sengupta and Koushani Mukherjee

Bonny Sengupta and Koushani Mukherjee might not be your Mills and Boons couple as their idea of romance is a bit different from others but whenever they start talking about their relationship it feels like love is in the air. Bonny and Koushani are in love for quite some time giving their fans some serious relationship goals. But did you know what happened when Bonny first proposed Koushani? The talented actor recently shared the incident with us while asked about their first date. “I first proposed her at Anaya Kutir in Raichak. I had already one movie released by then, so people knew me. I arranged some candles by the poolside and the lights were put out. We were sitting on the terrace with a lovely view. I remember we danced so passionately and had food,” revealed Bonny.
