Selvam K (Naam Tamilar Katchi), Mahendran K (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), Moorthy P (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), Karthikeyan S (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), Bharathiraja A (Puthiya Tamilagam), Prince S (Republican Party of India (Athawale)), Boomirajan K (Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi), Arasu S (Independent), Arun Pandian A J (Independent), Ajay Kannan A (Independent), Karthikeyan G (Independent), Chandra Mouliswaran A (Independent), Pitchai V (Independent), Mugeshkumar M (Independent), and Velladurai A (Independent) — 15 candidates contesting from Madurai East in Tamil Nadu's 2026 Assembly Election. Votes cast across this constituency are now being counted, and early trends from each round will be closely watched as the day unfolds. Madurai East is a General constituency. In 2021, Moorthy P of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won by a margin of 49,604 votes. The 2016 winner was P.
