Dhuriyapar emergesas big industrial hub
TNN
Gorakhpur: The ambitious Dhuriyapar Industrial Township, one of Chief Minister YogiA dityanath’s flagship projects, is set to be developed as Greater GIDA, with authorities preparing to launch the second phase of industrial land allotment covering more than 400 acres. The move comes amid growing interest from major corporate groups, including Tata Power and Reliance Industries.
Spread across 6,876 acres in 17 notified villages, the township is being developed by the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) and is poised to become the largest industrial land bank in eastern Uttar Pradesh. In the first phase, around 800 acres were acquired and developed to meet industrial demand, with over 100 acres already allotted to investors.
GIDA chief executive officer Anuj Malik said sector-5, spread over nearly 450 acres, has already been developed and the land has been allotted to two major investors. Development work is also underway in sectors 6 and 6-A. With
demand from large investors continuing to rise, the authority is finalising plans for another round of allotments.
Earlier, the Adani group secured 46.63 acres for an Ambuja Cement unit, while Shreyash Distillery-Energy Ltd was allotted 60.48 acres. Together, the projects are expected to attract investments worth Rs 4,200 crore and generate around 6,500 jobs. Malik said the CM envisions Dhuriyapar as Greater GIDA. Located near the Gorakhpur Link Expressway and set to receive rail connectivity, the township is expected to transform southern Gorakhpur into a major industrial hub in the coming years.
