Bokaro: Three persons, including an NGO operator, were arrested in Bokaro district after police unearthed an alleged fake Aadhaar card racket being used to make candidates appear in a skill training examination on Friday.
The arrests were made during a raid at a skill training centre run by an NGO, “Shiksha Evam Kalyan Samiti,” at Santhaldih Moad under Pindrajora police station.
SP Bokaro Nathu Singh Meena said the examination was being held after completion of a three-month skill development training programme. Police received information on May 28 that forged Aadhaar cards were allegedly being prepared using photographs of youths and candidates and they were being pressured to appear in the examination with fake identity documents. Some other candidates reportedly opposed the move, after which the matter reached police.
“A raiding team led by Chas SDPO-cum-additional superintendent of police Vedant Shankar and executive magistrate Jaya Kumari conducted the operation. During the raid, police seized a laptop, a printer, three forged Aadhaar cards and multiple mobile phones from the premises,” said the SP.
The arrested accused were identified as Pradeep Kumar Kasera (44) of Varanasi, Dharmendra Kumar (36) of Gaya, and Narendra Kumar (38) of Sindri.
A case has been registered at Pindrajora police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway.
