Noida: Noida Authority has said it will soon begin land acquisition for the New Noida project and plans to improve connectivity by linking the upcoming township to the Ganga Expressway. New Noida, also known as DNGIR, already has an interchange on EPE near Beel Akbarpur village. The area is also set to be connected to the Yamuna Expressway through another link road planned by YEIDA.The proposed 20-km link to the Ganga Expressway will provide direct connectivity to the 594-km, access-controlled, six-lane greenfield expressway and is expected to further boost industrial development in the region. A meeting will be held next week to discuss the project and its implementation, officials said.“Road connectivity to the area is a key issue. We have planned to develop a link road from New Noida to the Ganga Expressway, which passes through Bulandshahr. We are yet to make a project report of the road project,” said Noida OSD Kranti Shekhar.Currently, the New Noida region is linked to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway via an interchange near Beel Akbarpur village in Dadri. The area will also have connectivity to the Yamuna Expressway as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has planned another link road connecting the Film City with the Ganga Expressway near Siyana village.
This road passes through the New Noida area.Noida will soon begin acquiring land on a consent basis, starting with 37 villages in the first phase — 24 in Bulandshahr and 13 in Gautam Budh Nagar.Beel Akbarpur, Kot, Milak Khandera, Phoolpur and Sainthali are among the GB Nagar villages where acquisition will be conducted. In Bulandshahr, villages under the project include Birondi Fauladpur, Birondi Tajpur, Kokhabad, Kaithara, Kishanpur, Muradabad and Nawada, among others.Noida has asked the govt to deploy three tehsildars in the area to facilitate land acquisition. However, the Authority is yet to get the required manpower. In April this year, the Noida Authority fixed land acquisition rates for New Noida at Rs 4,300 per sqm, matching the revised rates set by YEIDA for the Noida International Airport project. However, the Authority may face resistance from local landowners who claim that the land rates in the area have already shot up due to the Sikandrabad industrial area in the neighbourhood.Noida Authority additional CEO Satish Pal said that the Authority will get consent from landowners and then acquire. “There are 84 villages in this project. We are yet to decide if the acquisition will start from a certain village or simultaneously from all villages. We will hold a meeting this week to discuss the issue and take suitable measures,” he said.More than 209 sq km was notified for the project across 84 villages on Oct 18, 2024. Of these, 63 are in Bulandshahr while the remaining 21 are in GB Nagar. The notified area has been identified as one of the seven proposed investment regions in the first phase of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). Officials said this is a key investment area, also considering its proximity to Noida and Ghaziabad. The Authority plans to develop the area in four phases.
