Mumbai man morphs ex-girlfriend’s mother, sister’s photos with obscene content; circulates them on social media

MUMBAI: A 25-year-old woman has lodged a complaint with Malwani Police against her ex-boyfriend for morphing her mother and sister's photos with obscene content and circulating it over social media to her family and relatives. Malwani Police have registered an FIR against the accused for defamation and intimidation.The woman lives in Malwani with her parents and siblings. In May 2025, she befriended one Arif over Instagram. The two would chat regularly and got into a relationship. In Jan 2026, the two went to Hyderabad for an outing. According to the complainant, Arif took photos of her mother and sister from her, and also took contact numbers of everyone in the family.After they returned to Mumbai, the couple's relations soured. They started to have frequent altercations. The complainant later discovered that images of her mother and sister morphed with obscene content were being circulated on social media by Arif among her family and relatives. She then approached the police.
