Mumbai: A 24-year-old bike-borne delivery boy suffered injuries in a hit-and-run mishap at Goregaon and died in hospital 11 days later during treatment. Goregaon Police registered an FIR for rash driving and negligence against an unknown person on June 3.Mohammad Zain Sumra, the victim, earlier worked at a call centre. A month ago, he left his job and started working as a delivery boy with a food delivery platform. Sumra lived with his family at Mira Road.On May 20, Sumra’s mother received a phone call from an unknown person. He told her that her son was admitted to Trauma Care Hospital at Jogeshwari. Sumra’s parents rushed to the hospital, where they learnt he was injured in a road crash. He was unconscious during treatment. His family moved him to Holy Spirit Hospital, where he was admitted to the ICCU. On May 31, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.Later, police informed his family that he was hit by an unknown motorist on MTNL bridge on Goregaon-Mulund Link Road on May 20.
