GURGAON: A fresh controversy has erupted around comedian Pranit More’s stand-up show after a video featuring a young doctor triggered backlash online over remarks allegedly made about a male cadaver during the show. The doctor, identified as Dr Sejal Pawar, later issued an apology, saying she understood why people were upset and accepted responsibility for her words.“I’m not here to justify what was said or explain it away. I take responsibility for it. Looking back, I can see how my words could be interpreted differently from what I meant,” Pawar wrote on social media. The controversy began after a clip from the show surfaced online, where Pawar was allegedly heard discussing how doctors joke about a man’s private parts while performing post-mortem examinations.According to Pawar, the clip is three months old.The remarks sparked criticism, with several social media users questioning whether such comments were disrespectful towards deceased individuals and the dignity associated with cadavers used for medical learning. After the video went viral, reports claimed Pawar had made her Instagram account private. The account later appeared to be public again, and she shared a detailed apology.“I genuinely want to address a clip from a recent video that has been circulating. Having watched it back, I completely understand why people were upset by what I said.I never intentionally thought that I would say something like that, she said in the video. She added that while there was no intention to disrespect anyone and I was very naive and it was my 1st standup show.Calling it a learning experience, Pawar said the incident made her reflect on the way she communicates, especially while discussing sensitive topics.“To everyone who was disappointed or hurt by the clip, I understand what went wrong, and I am genuinely sorry for that, and I would never let this happen ever again,” she said. The latest controversy comes days after another clip from More’s show featuring Himanshu Jangra went viral. In that video, Jangra faced criticism over comments about expecting physical intimacy after spending around Rs 370 on a biryani date. The remarks led to widespread outrage online, and Jangra was fired from his job.
