Four injured in machete attack in Tuticorin
Tuticorin: Three arrested after four people were injured in a machete attack near the Mottai Gopuram area in Swami Vivekanandar Colony in the Tuticorin district on Friday.
Police arrested Kanishkar Prabhu, 25, Senthil Kumar, 50, and Lakshmi of Tuticorin on Saturday. The injured were Ashok, 29, Ajay, 22, Poosari, 58, and his son Viji, 32.
Police said around 11pm on Friday, the two groups, who were neighbors, had a wordy quarrel over a business-related issue. At that time, egged on by Lakshmi, Kanishkar and Kumar attacked Ashok, Ajay, and Poosari with machetes. Viji sustained injuries after he escaped the attack and fell on the road. The injured were rushed to the Tuticorin Govt Medical College Hospital.
Thalamuthunagar police registered a case and are investigating.
