Alwar: A 44-year-old engineer died by suicide after allegedly jumping in front of a train near Dhigawda railway station on the Rajgarh-Malakheda rail route in Alwar district Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Gagan Aggarwal, a resident of Moti Nagar Kali Mori in Alwar city.
His elder brother, Nirmal Kumar Aggarwal, lodged a complaint against Gagan’s wife and in-laws, alleging that he was subjected to harassment since his marriage.
In the complaint, Nirmal alleged that Gagan was harassed by his wife, mother-in-law and father-in-law, and that several attempts were made to resolve the disputes through counselling. However, he claimed the situation did not improve and Gagan remained under mental stress.
According to police, the incident occurred around 11 pm when Gagan allegedly jumped in front of the Vande Bharat train.
Sub-inspector Daulat Singh of Rajgarh police station said the family has accused the wife and in-laws of harassment, and the allegations will be investigated. Following the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family.
Gagan was employed as an engineer with
IBM. His in-laws are residents of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. He had no children.
