Tamarhat health centre vandalised over denial to treat child with snake bite
Dhubri: The staff quarter of a pharmacist at Tamarhat Health Centre in Dhubri district was allegedly vandalised after a Class III student, Khadija Parbin, was reportedly denied treatment after being bitten by a snake.
After allegedly being refused treatment at Tamarhat Health Centre, Parbin’s family rushed her to Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
Angered by the alleged negligence of pharmacist Ekramul Haque, a mob of more than 100 people brought the girl’s body to the health centre after the autopsy and vandalised his quarters on Monday night.
Personnel from Tamarhat police station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

When contacted, a source in the Dhubri health services office said Haque would face suspension.
