Dimapur: The Mokokchung district administration on Friday officially launched the district action plan for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) Campaign 2026 in a push to create a drug-free society.
The initiative directly aligns with the Union ministry of social justice and empowerment’s nationwide mandate to eradicate substance abuse at the grassroots level.
To tackle the crisis, the district’s comprehensive action plan would use a four-pronged approach. These include a supply-curbing strategy to choke illicit drug trafficking networks, a demand reduction report to evaluate and systematically lower dependency, outreach & awareness programmes to educate vulnerable demographics, and monitoring & documentation to ensure accountability and track progress.
District officers and civil society organisations have been assigned targeted, time-bound duties.
These stakeholders will work in tandem to eliminate substance abuse networks and foster a healthier, drug-free community environment across the district.
