Gurgaon: Authorities have intensified efforts to curb illegal sale and interstate transportation of petroleum products, with additional deputy commissioner Sonu Bhatt directing officials to strengthen monitoring and enforcement across the district to prevent black marketing and unauthorised fuel trade.A key focus will be the verification of diesel procurement by 91 industrial units that use the fuel for operations. Officials have been directed to inspect all these units and confirm that diesel has been purchased only from authorised sources. Any unit found to have sourced fuel through unauthorised channels will face strict action. Alongside the industrial inspections, daily fuel sales at all petrol pumps in the district will be closely monitored for unusual patterns.“If any irregularity or violation of rules is found during inspection, strict action should be taken against the concerned unit. Any sudden or unusual spike in diesel or petrol sales will trigger immediate audits and inspections,” Bhatt said.Petrol pumps have been explicitly warned against supplying fuel in bulk to unauthorised tankers or commercial establishments. To prevent illegal interstate fuel transportation, flying squads have been deployed across the district. These teams comprise SDMs, tehsildars, naib tehsildars and police personnel, and will maintain continuous field presence in various areas. They are authorised to take immediate action upon detecting any illegal activity.Oil companies have been directed to share details of large fuel transactions — including bulk purchases made in a single transaction at petrol pumps — with the district food and supplies controller’s office. The data will be scrutinised to identify black-marketing or other irregularities, and action will be facilitated against those found guilty.
