DUSU polls: ABVP leading in three out of four posts

The RSS-affiliated ABVP was leading on three out of the four central panel posts of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) after 14 rounds of counting, according to DUSU election officials. For the post of DUSU president, the ABVP and the NSUI are in a neck-and-neck fight with the former leading by 2,200 votes. While the NSUI was leading for the post of vice president, the ABVP was leading for the post of secretary and joint ecretary by a significant margin.

DUSU is the main representative body of students from most colleges and faculties. Apart from this, each college has its own students' union, elections to which were held annually.

ABVP leads in 32 college unions

In college union elections, ABVP has secured a majority in 32 college unions, while NSUI has taken the lead in 17 college unions. Notably, ABVP has garnered significant support in well-known colleges like Ramjas and Hansraj, said reports.

The ABVP, NSUI, CPI(M)-backed Students' Federation of India (SFI) and the CPI(ML)-Liberation-linked All India Students' Association (AISA) had fielded candidates for all four central posts.
