Coimbatore: An unidentified man was found dead inside the Coimbatore combined district court complex in the early hours of Monday.
Police said people who entered the district court complex on Monday morning saw a man lying unconscious near the compound wall and alerted them.
When Race Course police reached the spot, they found the man dead. Police found injuries on his forehead, raising suspicion over the circumstances around his death. They recovered the body and sent it to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for a postmortem.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was frequently seen on the roadside near the court complex for the last few weeks.
When police analysed CCTV camera footage in the court premises, they found the man jumping the compound wall of the district court around 5am on Monday. “He might have sustained injuries on his head, which could have caused his death,” said an officer with Race Course police. However, police have registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating further.
