HC disposes of wife’s plea after man says he left job voluntarily
Bhopal/Jabalpur: A division bench of MP high court disposed of a habeas corpus petition filed by wife Sapna Shivhare, who suspected her husband was being kept hostage by liquor trader Harish Shivhare. The court had directed Gwalior police to produce the husband.
When produced, the husband told judges he had left the liquor contractor’s job, left his clothes and mobile phone at the shop, and shifted to village Karauli to work as whitewasher. He said he didn’t inform his wife about the job change but wished to live with her.
Justice G S Ahluwalia and Justice Deepak Khit observed that verifying the story’s truth was not the petition’s subject matter. Since he voluntarily shifted and took whitewashing job, he was not held hostage. As he wants to live with his wife, the court has nothing to adjudicate and disposed of the petition.
