Couple killed, grandchild injured after bus hits motorcycle in Berasia

Berasia: A 55-year-old man and his 50-year-old wife were killed, and their seven-year-old granddaughter sustained serious injuries after a speeding bus allegedly rammed their motorcycle from behind near Pipliya Hasnabad village on Berasia-Nazirabad Road on Thursday morning.Upon receiving a call, Berasia police reached the spot and seized the bus. A case was registered against the driver.According to Berasia SHO Virendra Sen, the deceased were identified as Saim Khan, 55, and his wife Kallo Bi, 50, residents of Gondipura village. Their seven-year-old granddaughter, Zikra, was also riding with them when the incident took place.Police said the family was heading towards Berasia when the accident occurred around 10:15 am near a roadside clinic on the Berasia-Nazirabad road. A bus allegedly being driven rashly and negligently from the Nazirabad side hit the motorcycle from behind. The impact threw all three to the ground. Saim Khan and Kallo Bi suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot. The injured child, who sustained serious head and body injuries, was rushed to Berasia hospital by ambulance. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the government hospital in Berasia for post-mortem examinations. Acting on a complaint lodged by Abdul Salam, a relative of the deceased who witnessed the incident, Berasia police registered a case against the bus driver and launched an investigation .Police said efforts are underway to trace the driver and ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
