Actress Rimi Sen, who has appeared in movies including 'Hungama', ‘Baghbaan’, ‘Dhoom’, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ and ‘Golmaal Unlimited’, has filed a police case against a Mumbai-based businessman, Ronak Jatin Vyas, for allegedly defrauding her of Rs 4.14 crore. The police have filed an FIR and charged the businessman with defrauding and criminal breach of trust. In her complaint, the actress has claimed that the accused made her deposit Rs 4.14 crore in a new business through her film production company on the pretext of giving 28-30% profits. However, neither a principal amount nor the anticipated profit was returned to her. The actress revealed to the police that the fraud began in the year 2019 when she met the accused at an Andheri gym and became friends. 'When they became friendly, he approached her and offered 28-30% returns if she invested in his new business venture,' said a police officer. After agreeing to Vyas's business proposal, Rimi deposited a total of Rs 1 crore to his company between February and July of 2019. And in October 2019 and November 2020, the actress transferred another Rs 3.14 crore after the accused guaranteed the actress 40 percent profits on her future investments. However, the accused failed to provide the actress with the promised returns within the time frame. Upon questioning, the accused always came up with an excuse, and in March 2020, when the actress followed up on the situation, Vyas transferred a sum of Rs 3 lakh to her firm's bank account but did not pay any more sum.
