Marathi actress Sai Tamhankar recently graced the show Khupte Tithe Gupte. The actress, who has been active in the Marathi and Bollywood industries, made various revelations on the show. She also spoke about why there is a need for equal pay in the industry, taking responsibility for the family at an early age, her diet, and more.

​Once a monkey bit Sai​

Recalling the funny memory, Sai said, "I was doing a film in a Daang jungle. There was a monkey in the jungle, and he saw the tattoo on my hand, so he came and directly bit me. I took five injections after that incident, 3 in Maharashtra and 2 in Gujarat. Whenever I would visit any doctor after, they would either laugh or get surprised."

​Sai's mother played an important role in her upbringing​

Talking about her mother, Sai said, "My father was in the merchant navy, and my mother raised me so well. We were two women because my dad would be there on the ship. My mother sent me into the industry at the age of 17, and she trusted me. I am very thankful to her."

​Sai's love for expensive cars​

Sai said, "I love cars. When I bought my first car, it was very expensive. People bashed me for it and asked me to buy a home first. I spend most of my time in my car when travelling, so I feel I should buy a nice, expensive car. So that is why I love to buy cars. Ankush Chaudhary had once scolded me for it, and I did not listen to him."

Sai revealed to the host that she loves to cook her Sangali-style Pithala. She said, "I make really tasty Pithala and rice. I also cook other foods. When I invited Sonalee and her husband, I cooked chicken pasta for them."

Avadhoot told Sai that he had once inked a tattoo on his arm, and she had body-shamed him. Avadhoot asked Sai to apologize, and she did, saying it was only for fun and asking him not to hold any grudges.

Sai opened up about not getting equal pay in the industry for the last 15 years. She said, "I think people take male actors more seriously than female actors. Why is it there? I have been waiting for the answer for the last 15 years. Equal pay is also a concern, and why there is discrimination in the industry, I don't understand."

Sai also revealed her diet on the show and said, "I eat everything. I eat a lot of veggies. I don't eat non-veg that much, but I love seafood. People eat broccoli, oats, and other stuff nowadays, but I eat breakfast poha, upma, etc. I eat pumpkin and bitters. When I was out of India for a vacation, I realized that there is no food like Indian food."
