Vandana Sajnani and Rajesh Khattar take a holy trip from Dehradun to Vrindavan with son Yuvaan

As a gesture to thank the Almighty for answering their prayers, the couple took a holy trip starting from Dehradun to Vrindavan recently

'Had prayed that I will go to these places whenever I become a mother'

Vandana shares that it was their son’s first flight and definitely the most surreal experience of their lives. She says, “We slowly started moving out about two months back, to close distances like Khandala and Nashik but just for weekend getaways. But this was in my mind for the longest because I have had a really tough journey getting pregnant and with a lot of mishaps so I had said that whenever I become a mother, I am going to come back to all these places.

Started with Dehradun, then went to Haridwar and Rishikesh

Elaborating on their trip, Vandana, who, along with her husband and son, decided to stay back in Noida because of the lockdown in Mumbai, says that they travelled everywhere by flight and also covered some places via road. She says, “We started our journey with Dehradun. We took Yuvaan to a bird sanctuary. There were many educative places for my baby to see - not just in books but in actuality. We took him out which was nice, and then we went to Tapkeshwar Mandir."

'Haridwar was divine'

"We went to Haridwar from there and stayed there. It was beautiful and divine. Then we went to Rishikesh and did some did fun activities there. From Rishikesh, we flew to Amritsar. We were blessed as we ended up doing the langar. I've never had the fortune of experiencing the langar but it happened with my son this time,” she says.

The trip continued to Vrindavan

They reached Delhi from Amritsar and then went to Vrindavan. “We had a surreal experience there. At the Banke Bihari temple, my son was lifted by one of the priests and taken inside Krishna's temple,” says Vandana

Yet to visit Ajmer Sharif and Vaishno Devi

There are still two places that are left for Vandana to go with her family. “One is Ajmer Sharif and Vaishno Devi. My takeaway from this trip is gratitude. I had many people including my family members who were against me taking this trip. But when I took off, I was like, ‘God, just be with us. Take care of us and protect us as a family’ and he did,” she shares.
