Vahbiz Dorabjee-Vivian Dsena divorce: The actress reacts to rumours of asking Rs 2 crore alimony

Bahu Humari Rajni_kant actress Vahbiz Dorabjee, who is separated from husband Vivian Dsena since 2016, is enraged with reports flaoting in the media that she has demanded a sum of Rs 2 crore as alimony. The reports have further mentioned that her divorce with Vivian Dsena is being delayed for the same reason. In an exclusive conversation with the TimesofIndia.com, the actress expressed her anger and has stated that how much alimony she has asked for or what Vivian is paying her shouldn’t be anyone’s business. I am enraged and I kept quiet for way too long

There’s not much truth to the story that is floating in the media related to the alimony. I am enraged and I kept quiet for way too long. I always thought someday this will come to an end and it will stop, but it is going on. People are writing rubbish stuff without even trying to talk to me. I am very upset with the irresponsible journalism that people are doing.

3/9

There’s not much truth about the rumour of alimony

It’s better I speak now. There’s not much truth about the rumour of alimony. Yes, the divorce is not through and there are reasons for it. The matter is in court and I don’t want to disrespect it. People talk about women empowerment. So many celebrity divorces have happened I don’t understand why nobody questioned them. Am I the only celebrity who is getting divorced or has asked for alimony. Didn’t they belong to an affluent or well-to-do families. Why no one questioned them. Can’t I think about my security and well-being? Don’t I have emotions?

How much I have asked for or what is he paying me is nobody’s business

People are telling me that you belong to such an affluent and rich family why do you have to ask for alimony. I mean seriously! I just want to ask that if a girl from a normal family would have done the same, would they have questioned her as well. I am his wife and his responsibility. If the marriage has not worked, it is because of both of us and only one person can’t be blamed for it. People have a problem that I belong to a well-off family, but I want to tell them that it doesn’t matter and doesn’t take away my right as his wife. They can’t ask me, how much I have asked for or what is he paying me because it is nobody’s business.”

5/9

I don't expect any support from Vivian Dsena

No. He hasn’t and I don’t even expect anything from any one. I am a strong girl and can fight my own battle, I don’t need anyone’s support. We are not together so I don’t expect anything from him. There has been a lot written about me in the past 2 years but I always remained silent. Even I had many things to say, but I always handled the situation in a dignified manner. Now I have to speak up as it has started hurting me as a woman.

6/9

There is no possibility of reconciliation

No. There is no possibility of reconciliation. We both have moved ahead with our lives and are not looking back. I am just trying to remain strong and put the pieces together. I am doing different stuff and trying to challenge myself as an actor. Be it a social media influencer or hosting a show. Unfortunately being a celebrity you have to pay the price, but am trying to lead a normal life.

7/9

Someone is trying to sabotage my image

Somebody is trying to sabotage my image. They are trying to pressurise me by leaking out this unnecessary hyped false news. I am not going to sit and just tolerate this targeting. The sad part is media is writing about it without checking the background or authenticity. But I am not going to give up so easily. I am going to fight back.

8/9

There was never a third party involved in our divorce

There was never a third party involvement. It’s absolutely unjust with the way people are writing stories without even clarifying with me. Vipul Roy is close friends with both of us Vivian and me and we have clarified that there was never a third party involved but they still keep dragging him. He is engaged to another girl and people are still linking us. It’s unbelievable.

9/9

The TV industry was always supportive

Touch wood. The industry has always been supportive and when the news of Vivian and my separation came out, so many people messaged me. I was touched by the support. The work never stopped. The industry's approach never changed towards me. I hosted my first show, in fact, after my separation.

The media keeps ranting on gender equality, but, dosen''t talk when the women get benefits. What happens to the concept of equality in that case? In all divorce cases, the man is shortchanged with regard to alimony, child custody and everything. If you believe in equality then man should also get child custody! Where is the equality concept gone?
