From Samridhii Shukla and Reem Shaikh talking about their burn incident to Shivangi Joshi on playing mother of 3 at a young age; Popular TV actresses make shocking revelations

Rupali Ganguly, Reem Shaikh, Samridhii Shukla, Shivangi Joshi and Anita Raaj recently had an intriguing round table conference with Rajan Shahi's production. In a candid conversation, the actresses recalled their scarring incidents, on characters blurring lines into personal lives, playing mother onscreen at a young age and more. Take a look:

Reem talks about her burn incident

This year has really been eventful but that one incident that really changed my perspective would be when I burnt one side of my face. I was doing Laughter Chefs and the chasni splashed on my face. I didn't expect that I would take it so positively. But when that happened, my first thought was that my career was gone, I had to think of something else. But then the next day, I realised that there would be something positive about it. I had the resources to heal it, it has hardly been a month and a half and the scars are gone. That was life-changing for me.

Samridhii reveals she got burnt on the sets of Savi Ki Savaari

I resonate with Reem's story because I also got burnt twice on my last show. It was also my first show and I have always been a very emotional person and I understood that the show must go on. You have to separate your emotional self from work. Every time you look at yourself in the mirror and this is where the power lies, you show your scars and you normalise it for others. You don't have to be prime and proper all the time.

Shivangi Joshi on doing the death scene in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

One show that I did for almost 6 years has been Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, playing one character for a really long period can be challenging as you put your heart and soul into the character. I remember when we had to shoot for Naira's death, and all of them were making me understand how we were going to shoot it. I had started crying, for me that line between onscreen and offscreen had blurred out. When I shot it, I knew how emotionally and mentally difficult it was for me. Even when I was shooting that, I was feeling everything, I felt that I was actually falling off the cliff. I still am so attached to my character.

Rupali Ganguly on living Anupamaa

Playing Anupamaa for such a long time has blurred the lines between my onscreen and offscreen life. My Hindi has changed and I keep adding the Gujarati accent to it. Sometimes, it suddenly comes out and I even add Gujarati phrases to my routine.

Reem on growing up on the sets of Tujhse Hai Raabta

I grew up on the sets of Tujhse Hai Raabta, I had started the show when I was 15 and it ended when I was 18. So if people ask me, I tell them that if they want to see me grow up watch Raabta. And I have been a child actor but the recognition that I got from Raabta in the TV Industry. I didn't get bored even a bit while doing the show because I got so much to do in those 3 and a half years.

Reem on playing mother onscreen at the age of 17

I was a kid myself when the story was narrated that I had to play the mother. I had a great team, be it producers, or writers everyone made it look so seamless. I would credit the writer because she didn't let my innocence go away with the character and let me be my age onscreen as well.

Shivangi on playing a mother of 3 in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

I played the mother of three and when I got to know that Naira would be a mother I couldn't process it but I knew that the character demands it. I was fine with it. Then there was a leap and the kid was suddenly shown a 5-year-old. COVID happened and it wasn't allowed that young kids to shoot. So then there was another leap and I was shooting with a 12-year-old. For me, that was a shock but then yes, it was the need of the hour.
