Exclusive - Mannara Chopra on her apprehensions about being referred to as Priyanka Chopra's sister on Bigg Boss 17: When I went inside, I didn't want my introduction to be someone's sister

Mannara Chopra, the second runner-up of Bigg Boss 17, is enjoying the post-show success and receiving immense love from fans. She has swiftly resumed work commitments and recently in an interview with ETimes TV, the actress opened up about how she was initially conscious about being judged for getting things easily as she is Priyanka or Parineeti Chopra's sister. I did not go inside the Bigg Boss house carrying any baggage or responsibility. I considered it as an assignment and just two days before entering Bigg Boss I had completed shooting of my web show. I had no planning, before entering the show. From my hair and makeup to my clothes nothing was planned. I took my own stuff, personal belongings from my closet. Be it shoes, clothes or other stuff everything was my own. I didn’t have anyone to look after my social media. Main toh apni behan ko Apna phone deke gayi thi… there was nothing planned. When it comes to informing Priyanka Chopra (di) I didn’t even call her before going inside the show, nothing at all. I felt it was my own journey. When I was offered Bigg Boss it was based on my work profile and I felt it was a good opportunity to explore. It was never like I was carrying the responsibility of any surname. I was reluctant with the idea that arre iske liye toh industry mein aana bahut easy raha hoga… Mujhe Woh nahi chahiye tha. Had that happened I would have got hurt on personal level. When I entered the industry and met the casting director or the makers it was on my own terms and not as someone’s relative. It was always one-on-one and I have done it all by myself. I was like when I come out of the show my only claim to fame or introduction shouldn’t be that I’m someone’s sister. When I went inside I never wanted that introduction to be there Kyunki phir harr cheez wohi point of view se hoti and then I would have got awkward. For my maami, I would say I really adore her a lot. I have four maamis in my family but Madhu aunty is one person who I run to for everything. She understands me a lot. I stay alone in Mumbai and my mom always travels to Delhi, so I keep asking her maami batao main kya karoon? You solve this for me. When I spoke to her she really appreciated me and told me to live up to the good work and now things will come to you. It felt so nice that my family was proud of me. Yes, it was like an achievement when I got a message from Priyanka di and now it feels that I’m carrying a responsibility on my shoulders. Now, I have to make sure whatever work I do should be loved by my family and my audience. I want to stay grounded and my eyes will be on my goal. I have to work very hard.
