Exclusive - Karan Kundrra on Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, returning to fiction space and age gap between Reem Sheikh and him

After conquering the world of non-fiction space as a contestant, judge and host, Karan Kundrra is all set to return to the fiction genre. He will be seen as a werewolf in the upcoming show, Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal. Karan spoke exclusively to ETimes TV about his bond with his co-actors Gashmeer Mahajani and Reem Shaikh and how the show has been his toughest so far. He further spoke about the age gap between his co-star Reem and him. Karan also talked about Valentine's Day and how he will celebrate it with lady love Tejasswi Prakash. (Photo: Instagram)

On returning to fiction space

Yes, my last fiction show was Yeh Rishta. That was also a small stint. There was a lot of demand from the fans that they wanted to see me back in the fiction genre. I am actually quite excited, nervous which I usually get before every project. But this project is something that my fans have never seen me do before and I think they are going to like it. How tough has been the role?

When we started everything was going smoothly but now after shooting for two months I’ve realised that this character Veer, the show and the universe that we are creating the fantasy setup, it is becoming more and more exciting for us as well. There’s so much to do, to perform, so many layers and the approach of the character is very different from what I have done before. In shows either you are negative or positive but this is something different and one of my toughest characters. (Photo: Instagram)

Karan calls the role physically gruelling

There’s a lot of hard work, physically very gruelling, a lot of fight sequences, hanging, harness, jumping around and breaking things with my body. We are showing a human who is basically as powerful as a wolf so when we are talking we are not like humans. We have a certain body language that the power and intensity of a wolf has to come out. I have pain in all parts of my body (laughs) I am in a really bad shape, I got bruises, burnt, it has been a gruelling experience. (Photo: Instagram)

On his bond with Gashmeer and doing a two hero show

Karan and Gashmeer are doing a very good job and we are well suited to be working together. We both are very passionate about their work. We have very different approaches towards work. He is a perfectionist and I am a joker. We bring out the best in each other and we are the best combination. Our ethics are right and we are not here to steal things or work against each other and it was established on day one itself. We both have our strengths and we have come together to make a big, good show. Armaan and Veer are brothers and no matter how much they hate each other there’s always going to be a blood relation, connection. The chemistry is very interesting as two brothers are against each other. You want to see them come back together. (Photo: Instagram)

Karan on the age gap between Reem and him

In my mind I am just 4 year old and if I am going somewhere there’s no talk it is not possible. I don't approach our work in such a way. I don’t think like that. It all depends on what people perceive you to be. (Photo: Instagram)

Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal perfect launch around Valentine's Day

Our show is launching around Valentine’s Day. It is the perfect time. We have covered everybody for Valentine’s Day. The show is launching on February 13th at 9 PM and it is a proper one hour of intense love story. (Photo: Instagram)

On Valentine's Day plans with Tejasswi

Like last year also it was quite impossible but somehow we made it and this year also I think we will have to make something out of impossible situations. It may sound very cliche to you but love can’t be restricted to just one day. The day is special and you have to do something special but I feel, live everyday as Valentine’s Day. (Photo: Instagram)
