Exclusive- Gulki Joshi shares the character she would like to play if offered a daily soap: There should be a vamp oriented show; have done enough sati savitri roles

In an exclusive conversation with ETimes TV, Maddam Sir's Gulki Joshi gets candid about the pros and cons of Social Media, how it affects mental health and more. Gulki would love to play a catwoman in a fantasy while for daily soaps she is keen on playing a vamp.

Have gone through many instances that challenged mental health

A lot of times, I don't think of any other profession such as acting with so many mental ups and downs. As an actor, if I have gone through something terrible in my life and on set I have a scene where I have to laugh. I have to find a way right, it's my job. So as an actor it is now talked about Mental Health, it has been a part of life and it has always been there.

if Haseena Malik was sad onscreen then that would affect me as well

Initially, I used to have a lot of problems, if my character is going through something in the show, unknowingly or knowingly it would seep into my life. So if Haseena Malik was sad onscreen then that would affect me as well, it spills on. However much ever you say it's acting, at the end of the day you are a human being and that will come on to your personal life as well.

Agar Haseena Malik ki pareshaan ne mujhe pareshaan kiya hai...

Slowly I am learning the art of switch on and switch off, though most of the time it still spills on. But now I can pick and choose, if the character has given me 100 bad things, it has even given me 110 good things. Agar Haseena Malik ki pareshaan ne mujhe pareshaan kiya hai, toh uske thehraav ne mujh mein thehraav bhi laaya hai. So yes, I am trying to do that.

Haven't done typical TV drama

I haven't done a typical TV drama for quite some time, Maddam Sir was no way related to that. But I am open to that, I am open to new avenues, web and everything that works for me. When I wanted to do something, it didn't happen, so now I have chosen to take a break. When I stop running behind it, everything falls into place. So now, I have decided to have fun and see where it takes me.

In fantasy, please cast me in a show as a Catwoman I would love to do something in fantasy, I would like to become a catwoman onscreen. Is someone making a show on a catwoman, please cast me. I would be the Indian Halle Berry. I really love uniforms especially after Maddam Sir.

I would like to play a vamp

Probably as a vamp, if it comes to doing a typical TV show, not that I have an aversion to it. I have done enough sati savitri roles, now I would like to play a vamp in the TV show. Wearing those stunning sarees, crimped and curled hair, the big bindis. I'd love to do that, all the angst and everything will get out on the set and in real life I will be all peaceful.

8/8

There should be a Vamp oriented show

A vamp who always wins, nobody can defeat her. There should be a Vamp oriented show. Bohot ho gayi roti bilakti positive bhartiya naari. Now it's time for the vamps.
