Exclusive - Avinash Sachdev on taking up Bigg Boss OTT 2 owing to financial struggles: I had lost all my savings, sold my car and house after shutting down my restaurant

Chotti Bahu fame Avinash Sachdev spoke to ETimes TV before entering Bigg Boss OTT 2 house. The actor, who had been missing from the small screen for quite many years, revealed how he took a financial hit owing to shutting down his business. He also addressed his break-up with Palak Purswani, who is also a part of the show and a lot more.

2/10

Agreeing to do Bigg Boss OTT 2

It was mixed emotions. When the show was offered to me, I was numb and nervous. But then I gave it a thought that why should I say no, if things are supposed to fall in place, they will. I said yes and everything was in place.

3/10

Any inhibitions that playing a hero on screen, people will get to see the real side of you?

No, I don’t think like that. 18 years of my career, fame and money, couldn’t change me. I don’t think inside the house I will change. I will be who I am. People are going to like me how I am.

4/10

How will you keep calm in a house, where a fight breaks out every moment?

I would like to handle situations with my own experiences and maturity. It’s not like if things happen in the house, I will not react. I hope my meditation comes to help. If things go out of control, I won’t keep quiet. It’s important to teach the other person a lesson.

5/10

What was going on in your mind when you signed the show?

I was a bit worried for my parents. When you do such a show, your personal and professional life gets mixed. I wanted to understand if I wanted to do it. When I called my father to tell him, in 15 seconds he gave a go ahead and then there was no looking back.

6/10

You stayed away from the screen for quite sometime, was it a conscious decision?

It was not a conscious decision. Before Covid-19, I had opened a Pan Asian restaurant. After a lot of struggle during the lockdown, in one and half year, I had to shut it down. I took a hit financially. I had to sell my car, my house and all my savings were gone. Mentally, I wasn’t able to handle the situation. I was also having anxiety attacks. I didn’t need to take help of any therapist, psychiatrist or pills. I could handle it on my own. Then, I had signed two films as a lead, which went on for a year and it didn’t happen. So three years of my life got wasted like this.

7/10

Did you take up Bigg Boss OTT 2 to gain back what you lost in last 3 years?

Definitely, why not? I am not ashamed to say yes.

8/10

Why didn’t your relationship with Palak Purswani (who’s also in the house), didn’t work out?

The relationship didn’t work out because after a time, when the other person tries to change me and put me in jar and become someone else, which I will never, I have to take a step back. Break up is the only solution. I can’t see my life like that.

9/10

On bumping into Palak in Bigg Boss OTT 2

We will be living under one roof for 6 weeks if we survive till the finale. We will come face-to-face. We will see how things go inside the house. I had moved on in a week after the break up. I won’t go for a break-up until I am sure about not wanting that relationship. I cut off in 2 mins and then there’s no looking back.

10/10

Are you open to finding love in the house?

I am definitely open to love. If anything happens in the house, it will. If it doesn’t, then also it is fine. If my vibe matches with anyone then why not! I wouldn’t want to enhance it may be inside the house and request her to see how things go outside the house.
