Dipika Kakar cries amid reoccurrence of the cyst; Shoaib Ibrahim says, “I have constant anxiety thinking if something goes wrong”

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim, who constantly keep fans posted about their personal as well as professional lives, shared a new vlog on their YouTube channel. The couple shared an update about Dipika’s health and mentioned how they’re visiting a few more hospitals to take second opinions from doctors. Shoaib, on the other hand, shared about suffering from health anxiety amid Dipika’s illness. Take a look:-

“Our main focus is on the root cause of the relapse”

While talking about the relapse, he shared, “We met the doctor and consulted them, and now we are heading back home. For now, they have suggested a few more tests. Our main focus is to understand the root cause—like, okay, the surgery has already been done and the repair has happened, but we need to find out why it is recurring or happening again. These things can happen, but still, it’s important to understand the reason behind it.”

Shoaib and Dipika visit the hospital amid the actress’ illness

Shoaib revealed how they have decided to visit another hospital to take more opinions from doctors about Dipika’s cyst reoccurrence. He said, “It is still ongoing. From tomorrow onwards, we have to go to the hospital. We have an appointment with a doctor there, and we will take their opinion as well. After that, we will proceed with the health check-up. Yes, I haven’t posted about it, nor have I shared much about all this.”

Shoaib and Dipika open up about taking multiple opinions

Shoaib shared, “We are taking multiple opinions from different doctors. So today, it’s morning, the weather is quite nice, and we’ve stepped out of the house around 9 AM because we have to go to Tata Memorial Hospital. I think it’s one of the best hospitals in Mumbai. The doctors there are, I believe, top-notch. We have carried all the files and documents with us. The main aim of taking multiple opinions is to understand different treatment approaches. Because every doctor may suggest something slightly different, the idea is to see if everyone is on the same page. Even before my surgery, we had taken opinions from three to four places, and everyone advised that I should go for surgery immediately, as soon as possible, and not delay it before the biopsy. In our case, that was the situation.”

The upcoming tests

The couple shared how the doctors have recommended a couple of tests. Shoaib said, “The doctor has recommended a couple of additional tests. They’ve suggested an MRI and some blood tests. After the MRI and these tests, they will decide the next course of treatment whether we need to proceed with something, wait, or just monitor the situation. Right now, nothing very definite or conclusive has come out, obviously. So, further investigation is needed. Once we have the reports and show them to the doctor, we’ll get clarity on the further course of action.”

Dipika shares Shoaib’s condition amid her illness

Dipika said, “You know, in many ways, the situation for the person accompanying the patient can be even more difficult than for the patient. Like I said during my surgery as well, when you’re the one going through surgery, of course there’s physical pain and mental stress. But after that, living with the fear of upcoming reports that anxiety isn’t just felt by the patient, but equally by the person who is with them.”

Shoaib suffers from health anxiety

Shoaib said, “For the past 10–12 days, I haven’t been vlogging much. There are two reasons. First, there isn’t really anything new to show or tell mostly just hospital visits, doctor consultations, and the same routine. I don’t want to bore you all by repeating the same things every day, like ‘we’re going to the hospital again today.’ I’d rather share everything together after a few days. And secondly, ever since her second relapse, I’ve started experiencing health anxiety not about myself, but about Dipika. I feel a constant sense of worry. Even if something very small happens, I get anxious. I don’t really show it to her, though. Like if she’s sleeping at night and mentions slight pain in her leg, I get really worried internally, thinking if everything is okay or not.”
