Rahul Dev Bose

Rahul, who is set to play the lead in ‘Sagar Jyoti’, took a stroll down the memory lane. “We used to sing songs, put up skits and raise the national flag in school on Independence Day. I still remember making small flags using paper and pinning it on our shirts. Then there was the march past we had with our PT sir leading us. And I remember how proud I felt when I delivered the Independence Day speech to the whole school for the first time. Fond memories really!” says Rahul. (Photo: Facebook)

Tumpa Ghosh

"August 15 is very special for every Indian. Speaking about the day takes me back to my childhood. I used to go to school along with my friends from our neighbourhood. We used to take part in cultural events. I still remember how we used to stand in the queue and our teachers used to distribute chocolates. I wish I could go back to my childhood," says popular actress Tumpa. (Photo: Facebook)

Dibyojyoti, who is busy with his show 'Desher Maati', also shared his school days. “I used to participate in cultural programs on Independence Day. I used to sing songs or recite a poem in school. Then, we used to proudly witness the flag hoisting and look forward to the speech made by our teachers. Outside our school premises, there are stalls selling replicas of the Indian flag as a badge and other souvenirs. I used to buy those and still treasure them in my collection. I wanted to join Indian Army but destiny stored something else. Now, when I see my sister getting ready for school on Independence Day, I feel really nostalgic,” says Dibyojyoti. (Photo: Facebook)
