World’s first spaceship tourist plane to be ready by 2022

Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic may usher space tourists on a 90-minute trip to the space if all goes as planned. The company recently released a virtual tour of its VSS Unity's passenger cabin that was designed for space travel.

What makes it special?
It has the capacity to accommodate six passengers, a two member crew and has reclining seats made to suit every person's height and weight. Every passenger has a personal and well-integrated communication system to give them direct access to the two space pilots. There are large circular porthole windows to offer wonderful views of the earth as the spacecraft rises 97 km (60 miles) above the planet.

No smartphones

Apparently, the spaceship won’t allow smartphones as they might hurt a passenger due to their tendency to float in the absence of gravitational force. George Whitesides, Virgin Galactic's Chief Space Officer, told a leading news daily that to compensate for smartphones with cameras, 16 cameras are fitted around the cabin to take photos of the passengers with the earth in the background; two more cameras will record videos.
An exciting trip ahead
Whitesides was quoted as saying that the passengers can remove their harness and float in the cabin up to a permissible point in the flight. To prevent any injuries, soft furnishings have been fitted and people can also hold on to the grips for comfort.

Reportedly, 60 people have signed up for the space trip at a cost of $250,000 per ticket. The spacecraft will leave from Virgin Galactic's spaceport in New Mexico. However, the space trip has been delayed to early 2020 as reported lately.
