Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay to reduce quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated travellers

As per the latest news reports, Vietnam’s northern province of Quang Ninh, home to UNESCO World Heritage Site Ha Long Bay, will be reducing the quarantine period from 21 days to seven for all vaccinated foreign travellers, and those who have recovered from COVID-19, in a July trial program.

As per the reports, visitors from countries that have managed the virus outbreak, or has achieved herd immunity will be allowed to enter Vietnam. Reportedly, as of now, there are no details as to which nations have been deemed acceptable now.
Reports have it that travellers must be vaccinated at least 14 days before arriving, and test negative for the virus 72 hours prior to entering Vietnam. And for those who have recovered from the infection recently, a certified document will be required.

Also, those willing to visit this spot will have to provide an itinerary and the names of hotels they plan to stay at before entering Vietnam.
Vietnam was one of the first countries to take efficient measures against the Coronavirus, and it has managed to keep the outbreak relatively under control. When compared to other countries around the world, Vietnam witnessed less infection and death numbers, with strict measures in place. As of now, it is planning to gradually reopen its borders for tourists, and the first step taken toward it is reducing the quarantine period for vaccinated travellers.
