General Sherman, the world’s largest tree in California’s Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park is in danger. California is reporting a forest fire of massive proportions after a lightning storm on September 9 has burned the western part of the forest. Now the 275 ft tall sequoia tree is in danger of catching fire. Firefighters are working to try and protect the tree from getting destroyed.
Fires in the western part of America are harder to fight these days since drought, and heatwaves. It is warmer here these days when compared to temperature some 30 years ago, and the weather thus tends to get extreme. The incidence of wildfires have also increased in recent years.
