The relaxations include removing weekly Sunday lockdown and a shortened nightly curfew, which was in effect ever since the pandemic began. The curfew now starts from 11 PM to 5 AM instead of 9 PM to 5 AM as earlier.
However, restrictions regarding limited seating capacity at restaurants, and entry for a limited number of visitors in museums and casinos and a closure of bars, will continue to be in effect. In addition, people should abide by social distancing norms and wear face masks in public places.
People intending to take essential trips are supposed to submit an online Travel Declaration Form via the Puerto Rico Health Department, and also submit a negative COVID test report taken not more than 72 hours before their time of arrival on the island. In case, travellers fail to present a negative test result, they will have to quarantine upon arrival.
