Apichai Chatchalermkit, deputy governor of digitalization research and development at the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) also said that the authorities are still working hard to reopen the city within October. According to the reports, Chon Buri province where Pattaya is located has vaccinated only 33 percent of its population. The city has a long way to reach its target of 70 percent.
The daily infections in the city have crossed the 1000 mark since the end of July. Thailand, on the other hand, is planning to start tourism in its 10 popular destinations including Phuket and Koh Samui among others.
