Kishtwar is an unexplored gem in Kashmir noted for its saffron productions. The destination is also known as the Land of Sapphire and saffron for this reason. Located some 235 km from Jammu, the place boasts of some incredible scenery which includes towering snow-clad mountains, green valleys and pretty rivers. The authorities informed that on the very first day, the zorbing ball adventure was introduced. Besides, other activities such as sky jumpers, trampoline and paragliding will be introduced in the coming days.
The commissioner, appreciating the efforts, said, “Kishtwar township and other areas have great potential for paragliding, which needs to be exploited for attracting tourists.”
About Kishtwar
The place is also an ideal adventure spot given its topography. The Paddar and Wadhwan Valleys here are particularly famous for paragliding and rock climbing. One can also enjoy trekking in the region, and one of the most famous treks here takes you through Paddar Valley to Zanskar Valley.
Besides, the place is prized for its incredible saffron fields, spread across the district's several picturesque hamlets, including Berwar, Hatta and Pochhal, to name a few. The best time to see these blooms is between October and November.
Some of the prominent places to visit in Kishtwar include Qilla Kishtwar, Katarsamna and Bharnoin.
