The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), under the Ministry of Ayush, will be hosting a this grand Yoga Mahotsav at Parade Ground on May 27. Referring to this, Union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy stated that in the run-up to the International Day of Yoga on June 21, various events have been lined up to encourage citizens to not only adopt Yoga in their personal life, but also to showcase the rich heritage of yoga to the world. The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), under the Ministry of Ayush, will be hosting a this grand Yoga Mahotsav at Parade Ground on May 27. Referring to this, Union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy stated that in the run-up to the International Day of Yoga on June 21, various events have been lined up to encourage citizens to not only adopt Yoga in their personal life, but also to showcase the rich heritage of yoga to the world.
The Union Tourism and Culture Minister further added that a significant milestone was achieved in 2014 under the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga.
Kishan Reddy further added that Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, and Telangana Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao will also likely participate in this esteemed event.
Several other ministers, including Sarbananda Sonowal, Anurag Singh Thakur, are also expected to participate in the event.
Reports add that the preparation of the Mahotsav is underway, which will be a massive affair, and will likely see visitors from across the country.
Stressing the importance of yoga at a press conference, Union minister for tourism and culture, G Kishan Reddy, urged people from all parts of life to participate in the event.
