The festival will be organised by the non-profit organisation Kala Ghoda Association (KGA) and hosted on Insider. The fest schedule includes demonstrations, workshops and discussions about dance and music. Visitors will get a visual treat in the form of visual arts, music, dance, literature, theatre and book launches. The festival will be a platform for several events, depicting the artistic heritage of Mumbai.
The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival started for the first time in the year 1999. It is usually hosted in and around the Kala Ghoda district in Fort, Mumbai.
The name Kala Ghoda translates into Black Horse, referring to the black stone statue of King Edward VII (the then Prince of Wales) riding a horse that was placed in this area of Mumbai. However, the statue was removed from the site in 1965 sent to the Byculla Zoo.
