Get 6-month Russian tourist visa on the basis of hotel reservation

Russia has recently approved the new visa regime for 19 countries including India – Bahrain, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Iran, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey and the Philippines.
As per the new visa regime, travellers from the aforementioned countries can now get a six-month tourist visa on the basis of their hotel reservation.

This most recent development comes within a week of Russia announcing its plans to introduce visa-free travel for 11 countries and easing up of tourist visa requirements for some countries including India.

If reports are to go by, come early June, we can also expect to hear more on Russia’s plan to introduce electronic visas for 70 countries.

As of now, if you have your hotel booked in Russia, it would greatly smoothen the visa process.
