E-passes mandatory for those coming from Kerala to Coimbatore

The Coimbatore district administration has made it mandatory for any passenger coming from Kerala via train, flight, or road to get an e-pass and produce their COVID-19 test report from now. This move comes in the wake of rising cases of COVID in the neighbouring state.
District authorities stated that this step will ensure that those infected from Kerala do not enter the district, which will further discourage non-essential travel between the two states.

As per the latest reports, the health and revenue department have set up around 13 check posts across the Coimbatore-Kerala border to keep a check on all vehicles for e-passes and COVID-19 certificates.
Reportedly, anyone or any vehicle that fails to meet the above criteria will be sent back.
Referring to this, Deputy Director of Public Health Dr G Ramesh Kumar said the Coimbatore Corporation has been asked to set up check posts at the Coimbatore Junction and Podanur railway stations to check all arrivals from Kerala-originating trains for e-passes and COVID-19 negative certificates, without which they will either be sent back or forced to give a sample and opt for institutional quarantine.

The Deputy Director further said that while there are no direct flights from Kerala to the district, all arrivals from Mumbai flights will be required to come with a COVID-19 negative test and an e-pass. He further added that although if they come with a negative test, they will be tested again in the district, and will be sent to home quarantine for seven days.
