Cuba is now looking forward to brighter days with tourists as it begins to ease restrictions after seven months of lockdown. The tourism industry in Cuba has been a thriving business and the nation is now planning to restart it. Last week, Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero announced that 13 provinces of the country are being permitted to reopen for tourism. Cuba had shut down its air and water on April 2 this year.
According to Cuba’s Prime Minister, people with possible Coronavirus will not be required to go into isolation facilities anymore, and can isolate themselves within the comforts of their own home. While travelling seems to be making a comeback, it must be kept in mind that Coronavirus safety regulations are in no way to be flouted. You would have to wear masks at all costs, and maintain physical distancing when in public places.
Cuba's famous beaches, bars, restaurants, and hotels that have remained shut up until now are looking to reopen and woo tourists.
Cuba has also been facing an uphill task when it comes to the economy. While, on one hand, the health issue is grave at the moment, the economy is dwindling on the other. Thus, as other nations are reopening for tourism, Cuba is following a similar path of action.
The island nation has had 6000 confirmed cases and 123 deaths due to Coronavirus.
