For the first time in India, the Bihar Museum is hosting something unique. The museum is preparing to host India’s first Museum Biennale. It will be hosted from March 22 to 28, and will be available in both physical and digital form. So you could sit back at home and enjoy this all-new experience if travelling makes you uncomfortable during this time and age.
You have the opportunity to take an audio-guided tour as well at the Bihar Museum, alongside the two exhibitions that are going to be available. One of these is regarding the 19 museums in Bihar, while the other is on the making of the Bihar Museum.
Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, said in a statement, “The Bihar Museum is a cultural hub dedicated to the spirit of enquiry, exploration and creativity of the people of Bihar and the world. The soft power of art and culture has a special space of engagement in our development strategy for Bihar. The Bihar Museum Biennale is a step forward to highlight the rich heritage of India and bring alive the extraordinary history of Bihar and also celebrate the cultural narratives from various parts of the world.”
Eminent personalities will be in attendance here, starting with Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Director-General of Mumbai’s CSMVS and later, keynote speaker, Neil MacGregor, who is a British art historian.
