Dibru-Saikhowa National Park

Dibru-Saikhowa is a National Park and biosphere reserve located in Tinsukia, Assam, with the eastern Himalayas in the backdrop. The Park has a tropical monsoon climate with hot and wet summers and cool and dry winters. It mainly consists of moist mixed semi-evergreen forests, canebrakes and grasslands. The four prominent animals found in this Park are the feral horse, hoolock gibbon, Gangetic river dolphin and wild buffalo. The confluence of three rivers creates a vast alluvial flood plain and tiny islands, which are a haven for wildlife.
