Bandhavgarh National Park

Established in 1968, the Bandhavgarh National Park is located in the Vindhya Hills of the Umaria district in Madhya Pradesh. The park is known for its prodigious tiger population (the highest in any Park in India) and also has a large breeding population of leopards, and various species of deer. Bandhavgarh got its name from the most prominent hillock of the area of Umaria. The park has been divided into three major zones: Tala, Magdi and Bamera. The Tala zone, with its mix of tall grasslands and thick Sal forest is prime tiger habitat and attracts the maximum number of tourists.
