If you’re done sightseeing in Berlin, you could head out to Potsdam or Schwerin. The former served as the summer capital for the kings of Prussia and is today fast emerging as the new district for sprawling villas, baroque palaces and German extravagance. Shwerin, on the other hand, was home to the former dukes of Shwerin and boasts of its own summer palace that could serve as an inspiration to Walt Disney.
