A visit to Berlin is incomplete without a trip to KaDeWe, Europe’s second largest departmental store or the very dramatic Galeries Lafayette. A milky way of designer labels housed in award winning architecture offering breathtaking views and if that was not enough, with some great food fare thrown in as well. Interestingly enough, the city is also home to Europe’s largest second hand clothes store, Kleidermarkt Garage. And if you’ve not had your share of bargaining, you could strike more deals at the no frills Sunday flea markets. Take your pick from the one in Mauerpark, Rathaus Schoeneberg or Troedelmarkt am Boxhagener Platz. Once done rummaging through second hand fare, there are options to shake things up with some live music and a karaoke setting or keep it simple with your favourite title from Another Country, a haven for book lovers where one can borrow at a very nominal cost indeed.
