Registration begins for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2019, register now

Take note, registration for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2019 is now on. The process started on April 9, with the yatra scheduled from June 8 to September 8 for the year. The last day for registration is May 19, 2019. The pilgrimage will be organised on two routes this time—the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and Nathu La in Sikkim. Those seeking to undertake the journey can select one of the routes or both, and state their priority in the latter case. The registration process can be completed online on the official portal https://kmy.gov.in

Each yatri will be allotted to a batch, with the Uttarakhand route comprising of 18 batches, each batch comprising of 16 pilgrims. The journey would take 24 days, including 3 days that have to be spent in Delhi for preparation. The Sikkim route would see 10 batches of 50 pilgrims in each batch. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is organised by the Ministry of External Affairs every year, with efforts to make it as hassle-free as possible.
If you choose to opt for the journey via Lipulekh Pass, it would cost INR 180000; undertaking the Kailash yatra via Sikkim’s Nath La will cost INR 250000 per person. Applicants would be chosen on the basis of a draw that would be computer-generated, random, and gender-balanced. The essential documents for the online registration process are scanned passport pages (containing photo and address details), and a photo. Instructions on the website have been issued in English as well as Hindi.

An essential condition for the pilgrims is that they should be a minimum of 18 years of age, and not more than 70 years on January 1, 2019.
The selected candidates will be notified via SMS and/or automated e-mail. They can then commence to pay the stated confirmation fee.
